Hard Rock Hotel Penang

Great pool area, spacious and well equipped gym, right on the beach (although the beach itself not that impressive), great service at pool bars and restaurants. Very good food at restaurants and breakfast. Entertainment in room is great.

Room service menu could be better, some items only available during specific hours (some items not on menu possible to get anyway via reception, which is a plus). Shop in hotel is rock shop with very limited selection of other items, did not have drinks, snacks, or wet wipes (need to Grab from supermarket). Single beds are somewhat small. Breakfast area not that large and can get very busy with queues to popular food.

If there is more the 10 rating, I would definitely give it Hard Rock. Best staff ever, they upgraded my room to sea view, they gave me vouchers for breakfast because I stayed with them 10 years before. My kids enjoyed all day and we enjoyed the wonderful location. Clean as new.Thank you Hard Rock

The facilities and amenities were complete as expected. The offer for free 1-hour rental of the guitars was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and quite delicious.

The sofa/stool near the window in need of new upholstery. The slides go into the moderately deep side of the pool. Perhaps can have smaller slides that goes into shallower side of the pool too.

Variety of foods and delicious

The pool maintenance since there's were tiles broken and made one of helper got cut and wounded just cause she helped my daughter by falling that area of pool slides.

Beach and pool is exceptional

Toilets are cramped and amenities like soap are not high quality

I booked a Terrace room which is a very big room second day I asked the staff if I could change it to sea view room which smaller and she said that I have to pay more 500 R Actually the rooms are very dark with that purple colour and the staff is not lovely except once (Indonesian ) guy in the reception , very expensive hotel.

Unpleasant view from the room. I was expecting facing hills / pools. Window cant open for good air circulation.

NO thing

Nothing, really it’s a big lie nothing matching the photos on the website, beach without any facilities, swimming pool very crowded and not clean, reception like one star not even three star, breakfast very very bad and not organized and food is not fresh at all, staff is not friendly at all. Hotel is very local and maximum should be 3 star. Room will make you sick and very small. Overall the prices is very expensive without any services. Don’t waste your money without service in that hotel.

All everything. I will never repeat that bad experience and waste my money for nothing not even normal. No really nothing and never recommend for any one.

The pool for kids

The bathroom super old ,there a lot of crack and dirty. The pool can be improved , the flooring for the kid pool came off,dirty.

We liked the breakfast buffet, the rooms themes and the activities available for children around the hotel.Was also a PS4 available in the room with games to borrow.

The walls were thin and we had a shared door to the next room, so we were able to hear them quite clearly.We did go to sleep early in the night, but could hear the children next door being very noisy.

What I liked most was the breakfast. The variety was full and impressive, and everything was always ready on time. Beyond the food, the staff's hospitality was excellent and truly stood out

One minor inconvenience was the lack of a convenience store (like a 7-Eleven or FamilyMart) within the hotel or right next door. Having a readily accessible option for essentials, quick snacks, or beverages at standard retail prices would greatly enhance the convenience of the stay. It would be a great addition to the hotel's services to provide a shuttle bus for guests with drop-off points to key nearby areas. This service would significantly improve guest mobility and convenience for local exploration.

Clean and close to Escape Penang and the beach

Breakfast was a nice spread but flavor and taste can be improved. Loved the beach view from our room. The pool was a tad bit crowded.

The overcrowded pool wasn’t fun. They ran out of towels and couldn’t provide so many of us with clean dry ones.

The feel of 'Hard Rock' from lobby to hallways. From door, lights, carpet, closet, balcony, curtains, bed, pillows to qiblat, all very nice, cozy and complete. Good view, sunset is beautiful. Shower and bathtub is very nice. Bathroom is complete. A lot of TV channels. Basically they did very well. Added an outstanding live band at night. The kids loved the backyard pool, large and long pool and restaurant, nice gym. Western breakfast very nice, complete and the froyo is delicious, i have to complement the Roti Canai and curry. Service is superb. The staff's are very nice and friendly.The beach is happening at night with fire shows and stuffs.

Okay, no free drinks while waiting for room to be ready only two small tequila glass ice tea which served by the receptionist when ur done at the counter. No free cookies. Bellboy late understandable because of peak schools holidays which is expected. Room LED TV got sheered line in the middle of the screen. NO SUBTITLES, each time the movie finished, the screen goes blank. No sofas, even tho the room empty space is quite large like u can fit another 2 single beds. Bathroom mirror is split sideways or no privacy. Gym is adequate, no sauna, no changing room, no tvs or screen on the treadmill. Breakfast on the Asian cuisines is a bit mellow although not many selections they change everyday. The poolside for adults is standard depth all around, sands too near makes the water pollutes added by the rooms backyard connected to the pool makes the water mix with leftovers, or drunk vomits, alcohol and its not very pleasant. Other facilities and added activities needs money of course but its really pricey. Foods outside is not cheap and par with the prices. Its live up to its 'name' i guess but u can get more value with other.

Rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. The pools were nice and fun for the kids. Breakfast was decent, with a good variety. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent

The amenities for the kids are superb. The room is spacious and the location is pretty close to the Ferringgi Bay.

We just loved everything about HRHP. It was indeed a pleasant and very relaxing holiday we had. It was a very thoughtful anniversary cake ? gifted by the hotel, and we are very thankful ?

Please restrict some guest from the swimming pool if they are not in the appropriate attire. There are ethics and rules to set by the hotel hence please guest must follow.

I liked the location, the sea view, and the nearby seaside shops close to the hotel.

The swimming pool could have been maintained better, as it didn’t always look clean each day.
